Renault Case to be Raised in French Parliament PARIS, (JTA) — The France- Israel Friendship Alliance ap- proved a resolution at its third annual meeting to ask Presi- dent Charles de Gaulle to ex- amine the Renault company's decision to end operations in Israel and to ask him to see to it that "France stops giving in to the Arab boycott" against Israel. Deputy Raymond Schmittlein told the meeting that he would bring the issue up in Parlia- ment. French Minister Jacques Sous- telle, who is president • of the Alliance, called forstrengthen- ing of French-Israel ties "in a common struggle for peace." He stressed the significance of the presence at the annual meeting of two Algerian deputies, Ali Nalem and Bachaga Boulem. He said their attendance demon- strated the spirit in which the Alliance was formed and in which it operates. Deputy Ali Nalem paid trib- ute to Israel "for finally enter- ing once again the promised land" and said that the enemies of France were the same forces as the enemies of Israel. Arieh Ben Eliezer, a member of the Knesset, Israel's Parliament, said that the Arab states were still at war with Israel and that they were still receiving arms which they wanted to use against Israel. Sought by the Canadian Jew- ish Congress for participation in its 40th anniversary Rosen- berg "found himself" through an article appearing in the Jewish News, Oct. 2. One of the first delegates to the CJC at Montreal in 1919, Rosenberg has been invited to the plenary sessions of the CJC in Montreal this weekend, both as an observer delegate and an honorary "charter delegate." A special tribute program and a presentation of scrolls to the pioneers of forty years ago will be held. Rosenberg stated that he still has the credentials of the first Canadian Jewish Congress, of March, 1919, when he was sec- retary of the organizing and election committee of the Toronto section. Negotiations have been inter- rupted several times, the latest halt being linked by some sources to the decision of the Renault auto firm, a French en- terprise, to discontinue as- semblies at the Kaiser-Frazer plant in Haifa. The Renault experience was taken into account by the Israel shipping company with a de- cision to seek a clause in the proposed contract under which the French shipbuilder would agree to supply all spare parts for the ocean liner at any time and without reference to any changes "in the general situa- tion or relations." • Current Rafe On ANY Amount All Savings Insured to S10,000 by an Agency of the United States Gov't AMERICAN SAVINGS DEXTER at CORTLAND • LIVERNOIS at W. 7 MILE • W. 9 MILE near COOLIDGE Ma-in Office: Woodward at Congress • 3 Other Branches -• „,„„ ••• • • • • :":: • " " •••*4- "‘• • • Co en
