nomic development and immi-
grant absorption.
In 1955, on- a visit to the
Jewish state, he met with gov-
ernment - officials, scientists,
businessmen and economists to
discuss and witness Israel's ad-
vances toward economic ex-
pansion.
As the first president of the
America-Israel Friendship So-
ciety, he has been in the fore-
front of national leaders of all
faiths who believe in the need
for a continuous and non-polit-
ical expresssion of friendship
between the two countries.
Adams, star of radio, televi-
sion, movies and night clubs,
also is known as an author.
His latest book, "Cindy and
I," follows earlier successes
with "From Gags to Riches,"
"The Curtain Never Falls,"
"Strictly for Laughs" and "The
Joey Adams. Joke Book."
