Klinger-Adler Rites Honor Burdick at Oct. 14 Dinner

Dr. and Mrs. Samuel R. Zoss,
of Youngstown, 0., recently an-
nounced the engagement of
their daughter, Linda Kay, to
Lawrence Sheldon Fishman,
son of Mr. and Mrs. George
R. Smith, of 18410 Birchcrest.
Mr. Fishman is the son of the
late Mr. Ben Fishman.
Miss Zoss is a senior in
sociology at the University of
Michigan, where her fiance did
his undergraduate work. He is
now a sophomore in the U. of
M. medical school.
The bride-to-be is a member
of Alpha Lamba Delta and
Phi Beta Kappa honorary so-
cieties. Mr. Fishman is affili-
ated with Phi Delta Epsilon
medical fraternity.
The Detroit Service Group
Mission presently visiting Israel
on a study mission met in-
formally last week with former
residents of Detroit now living
in Israel. The special get-
together, held in Tel Aviv, was
sponsored by the Association of
Americans and Canadians in
Israel.
Representing the former resi-
dents of Detroit as host to the
visitors was David Crohn, son
of Mr. and Mrs. L a wr en c e
Crohn. Crohn is assistant vice-
president of the AACI. He
pointed out to the guests that
Americans are making signifi-
cant contributions in skill and
know-how to the developing
State.
Crohn added that the prob-
lems of American settlers, al-
though easier in some ways than
those of immigrants from Po-
land, Romania, etc., are never-
theless comparable as far as
language, job, housing and fam-
ily adjustment are concerned.

formed committee of his
friends.
Paul Bagwell, who was the
Republican candidate for Gov-
ernor last November, will be
the toastmaster.

by Rabbi Israel I. Halpern and
Cantor Shabtai Ackerman in a
double-ring ceremony at the
Beth Abraham Synagogue on
Sept. 20.
Parents of the bride are Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Adler, of 15870
Indiana. The bridegroom is the
son of Dr. and Mrs. Manuel A.
Klinger, of 19200 Warrington.
The bride chose a gown of
e m p i r e styled ivory peau
d'faille, graced by a portrait
neckline and fitted bodice of re-
embroidered French lace. The
bouffant skirt also appliqued
with re-embroidered French lace
fell into a chapel train. A crown
of orange blossoms held her
French illusion veil. She carried
a white satin prayer book cov-
ered with orchids, roses and
trailing stephanotis.
Attending the bride was her
sister, Anne Summers, as ma-
tron of honor. Bridesmaids were
Susan Radner, sister of the
bridegroom, Pauline Kravitz and
Shirley Brown. Leigh Summers,
the bride's niece, was the junior
bridesmaid, and another niece,
Sheryl Summers, was the flower
girl.
Edward Radner, brother-in-law
of the bridegroom, was the best
man. Ushers were Leon Cohen,
Mary Dubrinsky and Ronald
Miller. Steven Silberberg was
the junior usher. Seating the
guests were Frank Summers and
Nathan Fine, brothers-in-law of
the bride, Arthur Elkin and
Fred Galperin.
Out-of:town guests at the wed-
ding came from Toronto, Mon-
treal, Los Angeles, Cleveland
and New York. After the dinner
and reception the couple left on
a honeymoon to New York City.

The traditional Yom Kippur
Night Ball of. the Detroit Social-
ites will be held Oct. 12 at Beth
Abraham Synagogue, according
to Ann Goldman, executive sec-
retary.
Sam Barnett and his orches-
tra will play music for dancing,
and refreshments will be served
by club hostesses during inter-
mission.
Arrangements also are being
made f or a Hallowe'en mas-
querade on Oct. 31.
