A traditional silver Torah Pointer, made in Israel, will be
awarded to synagogues that achieve a high level of partici-
pation in the High Holiday effort in behalf of State of Israel
Bonds. An Israeli silversmith is shown placing delicate
filigree ornamentation on the middle section of the silver
Torah Pointers, while a sample of the finished pointer is shown
in the upper left-hand corner. As in the past, many synagogues
will include special efforts in support of the upbuilding of
Israel through Israel Bonds during the Rosh Hashonah and
Yom Kippur services ushering in the New Year 5720. The .
Torah Pointer will be presented in a velvet-lined case bearing
an inscription in tribute to the individual synagogue's out-
standing participation.
