In a double-ring candlelight New Year Greetings
MRS. ERWIN RUBENSTEIN
ceremony on Aug. 16, at Beth
Abraham Synagogue, Judith
Nelson exchanged marital vows
with Erwin A. Rubenstein.
Officiating at the ceremony
were Rabbi Israel Halpern and
Cantor Shabtai Ackerman.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson, of
Stratford Dr., Southfield, and
Mr. Rubenstein is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Ruben-
stein, of Santa Barbara, South-
field.
A bridal gown of white silk
organza with Chantilly lace
embellishing the fitted, empire
bodice and entire front length
of the skirt, was styled with a
sabrina neckline and long
tapered sleeves coming to a
point. Flowered appliques of
lace enriched the two flowing
back streamers of the floor
length skirt which fell into a
chapel train. A matching Swed-
ish crown of seed pearls held
the bride's scalloped, fingertip
veil of pure French illusion.
She carried white orchids and
stephanotis on her Bible.
Mrs. Meyer Solomon, the
bride's aunt was matron of
honor. Bridesmaids included
Sandra Klein, Doreen Feinberg
and Paula Goldman. Lori Sol-
omon, cousin of the bride, was
flower girl. Harvey Rubenstein
was his brother's best man, and
ushers were William Nelson,
brother of the bride, Arnold
Shifman, Arnold Check and
Ivan Bender.
Also in the procession were
the bride's grandmothers, Mrs.
Anna Holtzman and Mrs. Fannie
Nelson, and the bridegroom's
grandfather, Mr. Louis Goldman.
Out-of-town guests attending
the wedding were from Cali-
fornia, Massachusetts, Pennsyl-
vania, Illinois, Ohio and New
York.
Upon their return from an
extended honeymoon in Miami
Beach, Fla., and Jamaica, the
couple will reside in Royal
Oak.
`Art Unlimited' Works
Sold in Courtyard Show
A unique "Courtyard Art
Show," featuring the works of
the 25 young artists who com-
prise Art Unlimited, will be
held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
daily Sept. 12-19 in Maxine
Sheldon's Williamsburg Square,
19358 Livernois.
Members of the group, from
Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, In-
diana, New York, Iran and
Italy, have had two other shows
in the Detroit area this year.
Including oil paintings, ce-
ramics, graphics and drawings,
the sale features the work of
Jafar Shoja, Persian miniaturist
who is studying at Cranbrook
on a government scholarship.
Art Unlimited was organized
and directed by Ilona Altshuler,
22-year-old graduate of Mich-
igan State University and art
teacher in Ferndale. Its mem-
bers have attended such schools
as Cranbrook Academy of Art,

panied his wife to the recent
Summer Harp Festival in
Maine, will cover the inter-
national competition for Harp
Magazine. Also a student at
Oberlin, Lifton is a government
major in pre-law.
He stated that while his wife
decided to enter the competi-
tion three months after the
deadline, "she was accepted any-
way, much to her surprise."
Mrs. Lifton, who will appear
with the other American con-
testants in a Time Magazine
article, lost the benefit of three
months' preparation, he said,
"but we have high hopes."
This is traced to the practice
of one of the Rabbis in the
