MRS. MOSHE HEYMAN

The marriage of Miss Rena
Yukelson, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Shmuel Yukelson, of Nes
Zionah, Israel, to Moshe Hey-
man, prominent young Detroiter
who recently returned to Is-
rael, was performed at the ZOA
House, in Tel Aviv, Aug. 14.
The bride, a- native of Nes
Zionah, is the granddaughter
of the Lerrers, who founded
Nes Zionah in 1883. She is a
third generation Israeli on her
mother's side.
She is a graduate nursery
teacher.
Her great-grandmother died
in Nes Zionah at the age of 112.
Half of the Nes Zionah com-
munity are her relatives.
Mr. Heyman, a native De-
troiter, who resided in Israel
for 20 years before enlisting in
the U. S. Army in the last war,
returned to Detroit 10 years
ago and was engaged in ac-
countancy. Upon his return to
Israel four months agc., he be-
came the comptroller of the
Super-Sal Supermarket in Tel
Aviv.
The newlyweds will make
their home in Rishon LeZion,
which was the home of the
bridegroom's parents for nearly
30 years.

JWV Bowling League
Action Begins Sept. 9

The Department of Michigan
Jewish War Veterans' Bowling
League will begin bowling at
7 p.m. Sept. 9, at Star Lanes,
Telegraph and James Couzens.

There are still a few openings
to be filled. Any JWV member
who is not bowling in the
league, or prospective members
who would like to bowl, should
contact Paul Epstein, president,

There will be a free night
of bowling for the JWV Bowl-

Something different in De-
troit in the way of nightly en-
tertainment can be seen at the
Critic's Club, 10441 W. Eight.
Mile, where patrons can relax
while enjoying music and
drama in a nightclub atmos-
phere.
Opening night, Aug. 21, proved
that Detroit has been looking
for a club such as this. "Slings
and Arrows," written by Pierce
Rollins and Carl Pavzner, with
music written by Hershel Horo-
witz, will run through Sept. 4.
The players are a versatile
cast: Paul Stolarsky and Bever-
ly Markowitz are full - time
schoolteachers; Hershel Horo-
witz, a dentist; Gay Surkin, a

Henry Loeb III, elected last
week by the largest number of
votes ever given a political can-
didate in that city, was host to
his mother during the cam-
paign. "I was so excited," she
said to a Detroit News reporter,
"I stayed at the polls all day
and celebrated all night." Loeb
and his wife, a former "cotton
queen," have three children.
The 61-year-old grandmother,
a native of Memphis, moved to
Detroit shortly after her first
husband died 17 years ago.
