Mogen Abraham, Dexter and Sturte- vant, it was announced by Wolf Cohen, president of the insti- tution. The agenda includes financial and educational reports and election of new members to the board of directors. Rabbi Joseph Elias, principal of the schools, will report on "Jewish Life in Israel and Eu- rope — a Glimpse Behind the Headlines." Rabbi Elias has just returned from an extensive study tour of England and Is- rael. He conferred with Chief Rabbi Dr. Brodie and other leaders in England, and with leading personalities in Israel. Bnai David Announces Classes for Fall Term Bnai David Religious School announces that registration for the fall term will begin Sept. 1 and continue through Sept. 10 at the synagogue of f i c e, 24350 Southfield. Classes, which meet at the Francis Scott Key school, Jer- ome and Rosemary, Oak Park, will begin Sept. 13. Transporta- tion is available upon request. Including a full Hebrew school program for youngsters of age eight through the 10th grade level, and a Sunday school program for youngsters five years and up, Bnai David's education department is con- ducted under the guidance of Rabbi Hayim Donin and the education committee, led by chairman Meyer Berman. School supervisor is Rabbi Eric Green- baum, who teaches in the De- troit public school system. Other prominent members of the Detroit rabbinate will address the gathering. The public is invited. - Dedicate Social Hall in Rotenbergs' Name The dedication of Rotenberg Hall of Cong. Bnai David will be held by Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rotenberg in memory of their parents, Abraham and Ida Ro- tenberg and Yeshaya and Toba Zeltzer at 8 p.m. Sept. 1. The main social hall is being named after a family of lifelong members of the synagogue, known for their generosity in support of philanthropic, reli- gious and educational causes. The Julius Rotenbergs have two sons, Manuel and Milton, and two daughters Mrs. Mary Stef- fin and Mrs. Phyllis Deytshe. Beth Yehudah Schools Accept Registrations Registrations are now being accepted for beginners and ad- vanced students in all branches of the Beth Yehudah Schools. Parents are urged to enroll their youngsters before regis- tration is closed, by visiting the main office, on Dexter and Stur- tevant, or calling WE 1-0203. The network of Beth Yehu- dah schools includes four after- noon school branches — on Dexter, on Wyoming and Santa Clara (in the Young Israel of Northwest Detroit), on Nine Mile and Kipling (jointly with Cong. Bnai Israel), and in Li- vonia. The pupils are picked up by bus at their public schools and are brought back to their homes after class. The Beth Yehudah schools also include the Day School, on Dexter and Sturtevant, and the Hebrew Academy, on Nine Mile and Kipling. Arias Shalom to Admit Non-Members' Children Into Religious School The parents of the pupils attending the Adas Shalom Re- ligious School are urged to re-register their children im- mediately. Rabbi Adler Returns to Pulpit Saturday Rabbi Morris Adler returns to his pulpit in Congregation Shaarey Zedek this Sabbath and will preach at the morning services. Rabbi and Mrs. Adler re- turned this week from their European trip and their parti- cipation in the sessions of the World Jewish Congress Plenary in Stockholm, Sweden. Hebrew Academy Gets Use of Mishkan Israel Enlarged facilities, to accom- modate the record enrollment of the school, will be available to the Hebrew Academy of Oak Park as the result of an agree- ment concluded between the school and Cong. Mishkan Is- rael in Oak Park, which will permit the Hebrew Academy to make use of the congrega- tion's new building, in addition to the present school structure, at Nine Mile and Kipling. The agreement was an- nounced by Rabbi Isaac Stoll- man, spiritual leader of Cong. Mishkan Israel. The Hebrew Academy was founded two years ago to give to Jewish youth a general edu- cation hand in hand with in- tensive Jewish studies. The school at present conducts reg- istration of youngters for nurs- ery, kindergarten, and the first three grades; every year an- other grade will be added. Evergreen Congregation Joins United Synagogue Evergreen Jewish Congrega- tion, at a special general mem- bership meeting, voted to affili- ate with the United Synagogue of America, the national organi- zation of Conservative syna- gogues. Six other Detroit area Con- servative synagogues which be- long to the national group are Adas Shalom, Ahavas Achim, Beth Aaron, Beth Shalom, Bnai Moshe and Shaarey Zedek. The combined synagogues now are functioning as one and are conducting services in the new quarters, in a building on Margareta and Wyoming.
