Meeting at sessions of the Union Institute Camp in Zions- vifie, Ind.-, board members of the National ' Federation of Temple Youth also elected two Michigan youths to the vice- presidency. To assist the new president, Roger Wolf, of Cin- cinnati, will be Charles Nathan- son, of Detroit, and Benjamin Morris, of Jackson. Representing the 575 temples of reform Judaism in the west- ern hemisphere, the board recommended a four point pro- gram of education and social action with the United Chris- tian Youth Movement (youth branch of the National Council of Churches). At the same time, the newly elected officers of NFTY were directed to explore the possibili- ties towards establishing a sim- ilar coordinated effort with the National Council of Catholic Youth. NFTY represents 400 teen- age branches in reform congre- gations with a membership of over 18,000. Rabbi Irwin Groner Elected Assistant Shaarey Zedek Rabbi Announcement was made this week of the election of Rabbi Irwin Groner as assistant rabbi of Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Rabbi Groner served as rabbi of Congregation Agudath Achim, Little Rock, Ark., for the past four years. He is mar- ried. The Groners have two children. Asiuming his office here on Sept. 1, Rabbi Groner will join Rabbi Morris Adler in fulfilling religious and pastoral duties and will assist in the congrega- tion's adult and youth programs.
