Mishkan Israel Begins Israeli Yeshiva Revives
New Life in Oak Park

Stollman, president of the na-

Detroit Orthodox Rabbinate for
over 30 years.
Tickets for the holy day serv-
ices are limited, reports the
seating committee. Distribution
of tickets will be every weekday
afternoon, excluding Friday and
Saturday.
Included on the committee
are Nathan Wolok, S. Rovin,
Louis Hammes, A. Friedenberg,
Isidor Sosnick, Phillip Stollman,
Julius Hechtman, Jacob Fish-
man. Jacob Bacow, N. Lepofsky,
Max Tyner and Jacob Gold-
stein.

vival of a tradition dating back
to Talmudic times when farm-
ers, artisans and men in all
walks of life -spent a month in
a yeshiva for Talmudic studies,
has • been inaugurated by Rabbi
Jo s e p h Kahaneman of the
Ponevizh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak,

course of study in the Yeshiva

Several hunderd people from
various parts of Israel, includ-
ing Safad and Beersheba, as
well as soldiers who received
special leave to a t t en d the
course—called. by its ancient
name "Yarhe Kalah" — have
arrived in Bnei Brak.
The opening lecture was
given by Rabbi Kahaneman,
after which some 700 persons
divided into small groups for
more intensive study. Among
the participants are mane- for-
mer yeshiva students.
