Livonia Synagogue Signs Cantor Pfeffer

The Livonia Jewish Con-
gregation this week announced
the signing of Philippe Pfeffer,
of 24360 Ridgedale, Oak Park,
as cantor at the synagogue dur-
ing the coming High Holy Days.
Pfeffer, who studied voice in
Belium and France under noted
European tenor, Sandoi Bois-
sier, has sung previously in Van
Den-Nestlei Synagogue in An-
twerp.
A prisoner in a concentration
camp during the Hitler era,
Pfeffer escaped and joined the
French underground. He was a
guerilla fighter in France and
Belgium. .
A master jeweler by trade,
Pfeffer came here after the
war.. In recent years, he .re-
