Turner for many years, particu-
larly in the field of extension
and safeguarding civil rights. -
He notified Meyer Silverman,
member of the JWV Council
Executive committee, founder
and first president of Gold Star
parents of JWV, and father of
the late Sgt. Morton Silverman,
after whom the post is named.
Meyer Silverman applied to
the post, which maintains its
own blood bank, and, conse-
quently, enough donations were
made to aid the stricken Turner.
Among the volunteers were
Bill Goode, Michigan regional
director of Jewish Labor Com-
mittee, and Sam Lipson of Clay-
Oakland Merchants Association.
