Socialist Students
in Austria Protest
Wearing of Swastika

VIENNA, (WJA)—The Feder-
ation of Socialist Students in
secondary schools of Austria
passed a resolution protesting
against the wearing of swastika
emblems at recent meetings of
Austrian ex-servicemen.
Wearing of emblems is in con-
travention of a ban by the Aus-
trian Ministry of the Interior.
The Federation also protested
against speeches held on such
occasions which had "glorified
the imperialist world war of
Hitler Germany."
Austria's youth, it is stated,
objected to the promotion of the
Nazi tradition and was deter-
mined to protect a democratic
system, gained at great sacri-
fice.

U.S. Fund Grants
Israel $5 Million Loan

TEL AVIV (JTA)—An addi-
tional $5,000,000 loan for the
Israel Industrial Institute from
the United States Development
Fund was announced today by
Jahn Haggerty, director of the
United States Operations Mis-
sion in Israel.
The Institute previously had
received $5,000,000 from the
Fund which also granted $15,-
000,000 to the Israel Govern-
ment. The loans, which are
made in dollars under foreign
aid legislation to assist private
enterprise in newly developing
countries, are repayable in
Israeli pounds.
The Institute is a develop-
- ment bank for channeling funds
for industrial expansion • in
Israel. It is owned partly by
the Israel Government and
partly by semi-public agencies
and some private investors.

which will award annually three
5,000-pound prizes to encourage
science, the largest cash prizes
offered in Israel, has been es-
tablished by the Rothschild
