Ave., recently honored the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Milton H. Balkany, with a luncheon, which followed services at Cong. Mogen Abraham. Mrs. Allen W. Gale (Sylvia J. Helfgott), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred A. Helfgott, of Oak Park. Mich.. has left to join her husband, who is serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, Ga. OPOTOWSKI In a candlelight, double-ring ceremony solemnized June 27, at Temple Israel, Enid Sharon Berk was united in marriage to Stuart S. Opotowski. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David M. Berk, of Vassar Dr. Mr. Opotowski's parents are the Rubin S. Opotowskis, of Pe- toskey Ave. The bride wore a gown of white silk organdy featuring a sabrina neckline and long, tap- ering sleeves. The bodice of Chantilly lace was appliqued on the skirt, and the midriff of white taffeta formed a large how with streamers in the back of the full skirt, which fell into a court tra_r. The illusion veil was held in place by a pearl crown. and the bride's colonial bouquet was of butterfly or- chids and ivy tendrils. Ellyn Joyce Berk, sister of the bride. was her maid of honor, and Geraldine Bailies and Lorraine Hirschman were bridesmaids, with Cathy Ann Schafer, the bride's cousin, as junior bridesmaid. Irving Tukel was the bride- groom's best man, and ushers included Ernest Bennett, Dan- iel Marcus and Martin Cohen. Stuart Earl Schafer, another cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. Following dinner and a re- ception in the temple, the cou- ple left for a honeymoon in the West Indies. On their return, they will take up residence on Merton Rd. Sailing is an all-year sport on Biscayne Bay at Miami Beach. First Girl in Ceresnie Clan Ruins Everything When Mrs. Sol Ceresnie went ipto Harper Hospital for de- livery of her fifth child last Sunday, it was almost a fore- gone conclusion among mem- bers of Ceresnie clan in Detroit that it would be another boy. The Sol Ceresnies, who live at 20237 Mark Twain, and the Harry Ceresnies. of 21750 Gard- ner, Oak Park, between them have seven boys. Sol and Harry are the proprietors of Ceresnie Brothers Furs, on Livernois Ave. But last Sunday proved to be a turning point. One day after July 4, Mrs. Ceresnie, the form- er Sophie Horwich. issued her own declaration of independ- ence in the person of Janice Helene Ceresnie.
