JNF Shows Increase
in Funds from Legacies

The income derived by the
Jewish National Fund from
testaments. living legacies and
wills has reached. 1.72 million
Israel pounds in the last fiscal
year the head office finance
department announces. This
means a sharp increase over
the figure of preceding years.
Much of this success is due
to the growing number of rent-
bearing living legacies. More
and more people find interest
in this form of capital invest-
ment which provides them with
an annual rent. guards their
funds from the danger of de-
valuation and saves consider-
able amounts in income tax, the
announcement said.

Shown here is a reproduc-
tion of the Ten Command-
ments on the two tablets of
stone as the late Cecil B. De-
Mille had depicted them in
his spectacular movie, "The
Ten Commandments." The
tablets are inscribed in the
original Hebrew script which
serves as a basis for the al-
phabets of the world. Under
the tablets is pictured the
Mount Sinai area in Israel.
At the left is a reproduction

attempt to introduce an anti-
fsrael resolution at the annual
conference of the International

here. was repulsed by a vote of
170 to 62—with only the Soviet
Union and Tunisia voting with

The resolution, introduced by

posed that the conference dis-
cuss immigration into "certain
artificial states on humanitarian
grounds." The draft did not
mention Israel by name. but all
at the conference were aware
that it was a political move
against Israel.
Delegates representing t h e

and the delegate representing
American employers. spoke
against the resolution. The reso-
lutions committee killed the
draft on the grounds that its
subject matter was outside he
