the following newly-elected of-
ficers in ceremonies at an in-
stallation ball on Sunday. at
the Detroit-Leland Hotel:

Shaarey Zedek, who had been residing in Florida for the past
several years, was the guest here for the last few weeks of his
daughter, Mrs. Florence Perlman, of Ohio Ave. With Mrs. Perl-
man and her family. Cantor Silverman is leaving for Los Angeles,
Calif., where they will all take up permanent residence.
A/B Ronnie Holzman is currently home on a 10-day furlough
from Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Tex. He will be
staying with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Holzman, of 22011
Jerome, Oak Park, until his return Saturday morning.
Miss Barbara Brawer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
Brawer, of 18237 Ilene, recently celebrated her birthday at a
sweet sixteen luncheon given for 40 friends and relatives at the
Furniture Club of Detroit.
The 80th birthday of Mr. Alex Oppenheim, of Cleveland,
0., will be celebrated at a reception being given by his children
on Saturday evening, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Oppen-
heim, of Indiana Ave., Detroit. His other sons and daughters-
in-law are Dr. and Mrs. Milton Oppenheim, of Cleveland Heights,
and Mr. and Mrs. William Oppenheim, of Hollywood, Calif.
Reva Kowalsky and Jerome Stasson will present piano and
violin pupils from their classes in a recital at 8:30 p.m.. Monday,
at Baldwin Recital Hall, Woodward at Ferry. The program is
open to the public at no charge.
Rabbi Chaim Meisels, former spiritual leader of Cong. Khal
Charedim , in Detroit and now of Brooklyn, N.Y.. will be a house
