Temple Sisterhoods, holds a
miniature Torah-like scroll,
with silver breastplate, which
was presented to her at the

Fresh Air, Tamarack 1Maimonides Elects
Set Summer Schedule Dr. Louis Kazdan
During the summer of 1959,
the Fresh Air Society, at its
two camps, Fresh Air, at
Brighton and Tamarack, at Or-
tonville, will serve 1,500 De-
troit earners, each of whom
will attend for a 19-day period.
Dr. Irving Posner, president
of the board of directors of the
Fresh Air Society, announces
that the staff will be under
the direction of Sam Marcus,
executive director, Fresh Air;
Morton Levitsky, resident di-
rector, Fresh Air; and Sam
Skolnick, resident director,
Tamarack.
The summer camp season
gets under way in June, with
the Jewish Community Center
Older Adult camping program,
and the Bnai Brith Young
Adult International Confer-
ence, both to be held at Camp
Tamarack.
The Sidney and PhylliiAllen
Amphitheater is now ready for
use at Camp Tamarack, as is
an enlarged waterfront and
tripping center. The latter
building will serve as central
supply for cookouts, overnights
and canoe trips.
The addition of a kiln to the
Mina and Theodore Bargman
Arts and Crafts Building was
made possible by Mrs. Barg-
man, and canoes are from Irv-
ing Popkin. Campers and par-
ents will be greeted by many
other existing new changes and
developments at both camps.
