Mrs. Emanuel Pytel (Shirley Gilman, of Detroit), and son,
Jeffrey, of Canoga Park, Calif., • are currently in Detroit for the
Bar Mitzvah of Mrs. Pytel's nephew, Peter Fein Wise, this
Saturday. Also here for the occasion is Miss Nancy Gilman, of
Hollywood, Calif.
Mrs. Annie Handelsman, of 980 Whitmore,. has received a
gold pin for volunteer service in the 1958 Torch Fund drive from
the United Coinmunity Services.
Students of Collette Salon Rosner will be presented in a
piano recital at 7:30 • p.m., Tuesday, at Baldwin Recital Hall.
The public is invited.
Mrs. Ethel Tyner, Mrs. Jean Tyner, Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Gottloeb and Mr and Mrs. Harry Lutz, all of this city, are pres-
ently enjoying • a Mediterranean cruise. During the trip, they
will stop in Israel, Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany and France.
Miss Alice J. Robbins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur.L.
Robbins, of 19325 Warrington, will receive a bachelor of arts
degree at the 81st .commencement exercises of Smith College;
Northampton,. Mass., .- on June 7. • A government major, Miss
Robbins is on the Dean's list for scholarship achievement. She
spent her junior year studying in Geneva with the college
Junior-Year-Abroad group.
Miss Roni Yaffe, a 'student at the University of Miami; where
she is affiliated with Sigma Delta Tau sorority, will return to
her home on *Northlawn Ave. on June 5.
Mr. Dan Frohman, noted baritone, choral' director and vocal
coach, will present a group of his students in a recital at 8:30
,Sunday, at Baldwin Recital Hall, Woodward at Ferry.
Participating in the program are Nancie Grace, Jerry Joffe, Mary
Delantonio, Ben Joffe, Ruthe Katzman, Murry Weiner, Jo An
Liebman, Shirley Monson, Alex Joffe, Rose Rozanoff and Irene
pianin. Mr. Frohman will be at the piano with Mrs. Rebecca
Froliman.

Detroit Socialites Plan
Rouge Park Wiener Roast

The first wiener roast of the
season is being planned by De-
troit Socialites for 9 p.m., Sat-
urday, at Rouge Park. Motor-
cades will leave at 8:30 p.m.,
from Billy's, Livernois and 7
Mile, announce Celia Burke and .
Robert Feinstein, co-chairmen.
Reservations are currently
being accepted for the organi-
zation's installation dinner-
dance, to be held June 7, at the
Detroit Leland Hotel. Music
will be furnished by the Towns-
men.

Marriages

SCHIFFER-KOHN. Announce-
ment has been made of the
marriage on May 8, in Amster-
dam, The Netherlands, of Joan
H. Kohn and Henry A. Schif-
fer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max
Schiffer, of Ferndale, Mich.
The bride, daughter of Mrs.
Irving Schwartz,' of New York,
and Mr. Herbert S. Kohn, of
Libertyville, Ill., is a graduate
of the University of Chicago.
She served as public relations
director of WTTW, Chicago's
educational television station.
Mr. Schiffer, a practicing at-
torney in Ferndale, received his
law degree from the University
of Detroit He currently was
elected to the Ferndale City
Commission.
The Schiffers, who are pres-
ently motoring through Europe,
will return early in June to
take up residence in Ferndale.

Mizrachi Women's Groups
to Install New Officers

All-Day Parley

The annual all-day conference
for evaluation of the past year's
activities will be held by the
Detroit Council of Pioneer
Women this Tuesday,- in the
Hayim Greenberg Center.
The conference, which will
concern itself with recommenda-
tions for improving the program
in the coming year, will begin
with registration at 9:15 a.m.,
according to Mrs. Norman Lee-
mon, executive vice-president.
Mrs. Irving Posner, outgoing
president of the Council, will
conduct the morning session,
which is devoted to fund-rais-
ing activities. The afternoon
session, covering education and
organization work, will be
chaired by past president, Mrs.
Irving Turner.
All outgoing and incoming
Council officers and committee
chairmen and officers and chair-
men of each of the 17 local
chapters will participate in the
policy:making recommendations.
Summaries of departmental
activities will be given by Mes-
dames Sam Wasserman, Harry
Mondry, Milton Weiss and Nor-
man Leemon.
Luncheon will be served at
12 noon, with arrangements be-
ing made by the Council social
committee, headed by Mesdames
Julius Tatelman, Simon Karbal
and H. A. Woolf.
