DEALER NEAREST YOU Forty years of service as a lawyer, judge and civil servant were climaxed Monday for Charles Rubiner with his elec- tion as president of the Detroit Bar Association. Another "40 - year" man, Charles L. Goldstein, was elect- ed with Rubiner to serve as treasurer of the association. Judge Rubiner, who had served the Bar Association dur- ing the past year as first vice- president, succeeds Frederick G. Buesser, Jr., whose term had expired. He becomes the third mem- ber of the community to hold the association's highest office. His predecessors were ex-Mich- igan Supreme Court Justice Henry M. Butzel and Leo J. Franklin. The new president assumes leadership of the 3,000-member Bar Association at the open- ing of its 124th year, which looms as a significant one in view of recent authorization of the board of directors to establish a home for the asso- ciation in the new Civic Cen- ter area. Born in Traverse City, Judge Rubiner was a 1919 cum laude graduate of the University of Detroit law school, later serv- ing on that school's faculty. He was then appointed Com- mon Pleas Judge, and two years later was re-elected to the same bench for a full, six-year term, .0 For the Best Deal on a New '59 Chevrolet See "BERNIE" SHAYNE or MILT LEVIN JOE MAY CHEVROLET PAINT CAMP KEYWVIA Plastic SAVE u"oo - .
