Y., Arthur Luce Klein, president of the company has announced. Recorded in Washington, D.C., last month, just as Am- bassador Eban was preparing to embark on a cross-country tour of the U. S. prior to returning to Israel, the record was made with the understanding that all of the proceeds from its sale would be contributed to the Hebrew University of Jerusa- lem for the establishment of a chair in American drama and literature. On the record, Ambassador Eban reads Psalms 8, 19, 23, 34, 90 and 148, and chapters 1, 3, 6, 8 from Ecclesiastes. Rogosin Sees $2 Million Profit for Rayon Plant NEW YORK, (JTA) - Israel Rogosin told a meeting of stock- holders of Rogosin Industries Ltd., here that by 1961, when the second phase of plant in- stallation is completed, the Ro- gosin mills in Israel would earn a profit of $2,000,000 a year. The first section of the plant, he announced, had produced three million pounds of tire fab- ric, all of it sold to two Israeli tire companies, and two million pounds of textile yarn. Equipment now being install- ed, he said, would increase ca- pacity to five million pounds of tire fabric - three million pounds for Israeli needs and two million for which he said the firm had commitments out- side Israel. Sabbath Subway Operation Draws Orthodox Threats HAIFA; (JTA) - Orthodox Jews here, about 1,000 of whom attended a protest mass meet- ing, decided to boycott the Haifa subway if its trains should run on the sabbath. The subway, due to open in the next few weeks, will con- nect the city's port district along the low-lying waterfront, with the business and residen- tial sectors on Mt. Carmel. The Orthodox meeting voted to boycott the new underground railway for a week unless its trains remained in the barns on the sabbath. 29-THE DETROIT JE WISH NEWS — Friday, May 8, NORTHLAWN, 16128 Lafayette Project Opens Town Houses C.C5 CD
