The 98th annual meeting of Congregation Shaarey Zedek elected Abraham Satovsky as president. Satovsky held many impor- tant posts in the congregation, including the presidency of the Men's Club, and was president of the Great Lakes Region of the Na- tional Federation of Jewish Men's :Clubs, of which 'he now is honor- ary president. The congrega- tion heard an illustrated report showing the arch- iitects' concept of a new 3600-seat sanctuary, school a n d administra- tiVe building. It Satovsky was presented by Mandell L. Berman, chairman of the building committee, and Sol King, president of Albert Kahn Associated Architects and Engineers, Inc., a member of. the congregation, whose firm are the architects for the new structure. Berman pointed out that the whole project, when completed, will cost between 3 and 4 mil- lion dollars. Berry stepped down from the presidency after only one year of service in order to be com- pletely free to head the Shaarey Zedek Development Fund, to complete the drive begun last fall to construct the new Shaarey Zedek to be located on a 40-acre site on Northwestern Highway and 11 Mile Rd. Elected to three-year terms on the board of trustees were: Dr. Albert A. Altman, Mandell L. Berman, Abraham Katzman, Hy A. Keidan, Dr. Samuel Krohn and Maurice Schiller.
