Hillel Day School Marks First Year
at Founders Meeting on May .5
Organizers of Hillel Day
School—the only Conservative
day school in Detroit—will cele-
brate the institution's first anni-
versary at a Founders and
Friends Community Meeting,
planned for 8:30 p.m., May 5,
at Adas Shalom Synagogue.
Rabbi Jacob E. Segal, Hillel
vice-president and chairman of
the community meeting, an-
nounces that Dr. Emanuel Neu-
mann, one of this country's
leading Jewish figures, will be
principal speaker.
Tribute will be given to com-
munity leaders, who helped
found the school. These include
Morris M. Jacobs, president;
Leon Kay, Morris Schaver and
Rabbi Segal, , vice-presidents;
Murray Frumin, secretary; and
Albert Posen, treasurer.
Among the committee chair-
men to receive commendation
are Wilbur S. Stein, administra-
tor; Milton Marwil and Rabbi
Milton Arm, housing; Morris
Lieberman and Nathan Shur,
legal; Saul Waldman and Rabbi
Emanuel Applebaum, registra-
tion; Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorre-
lick, scholarship review; Mrs.
Naomi Floch, personnel; Mrs.
Emil Wolok and Mrs. Wilbur
Stein, public relations.

sion; Mrs. Jacqueline G. Apple-

Staff members to be honored
are Noam Shudofsky, education-
al consultant; Mrs. Floch, head
teacher; Mrs. Isaac Barzilay, He-
brew teacher; Mrs. Noam Shu-
dofsky, kindergarten teacher;
and Mrs. Samuel Levy, school
secretary.
