Dr. Heuss told the committee
that "as far as I can judge, the
young people of Germany are
but slightly interested in the
events of recent decades which
they have known only as chil-
dren. It is our task to incul-
cate within them a spirit of
equal respect for all- men as
fellow human beings regardless

Israel Envoy Is
Guest of Queen

Eliahu
LONDON (JTA)
Elath, Israel Ambassador to the
Court of St. James, and Mrs.
Elath were overnight guests of
Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor
Castle. They were the Queen's
guests at dinner, where they
were joined by members of the
Queen's entourage and other of
her friends.
A member of the Queen's en-
tourage told the Jewish Tele-
graphic Agency: "Guests at
Windsor Castle are the Queen's
personal friends. A visit there
is not a State affair. It is just an
invitation to friends just as any-
One else might invite friends for
a private visit to one's home."
It was understood that in her
conversations with Ambassador
and Mrs. Elath, Her Majesty
showed keen interest in Israel.
Diplomats are rarely invited as
guests to Windsor Castle, such
invitations going usually to
senior officials of the British
government or of members of
Commonwealth nations and their
formal representatives.
