The assignment is "Jewish Life and Ritual," and the best prints of the evening will be submitted to the contest. DAVID EPEL , David Epel, a graduate stu- dent and teaching fellow in the zoology department of the Uni- versity of California, Berkely, Calif., has recently been awarded a National Science Foundation summer scholarship for study at the Marine Labor- atory at Woods Hole, Mass. Epel, son of Mr. Jacob Epel sexton of Cong. Shaarey Zedek, and the late Mrs. Epel, received his BS degree from Wayne State University last June. The summer scholarship, which covers research and sem- inar tuition, will enable Epel to study under and work with some of the world's leading scientists in the fieids of biology and marine physiology.
