JDC Distributes Clothes to Children in Morocco

CASABLANCA — For thou-
sands of children in the Jewish
schools here, the semi-annual
distribution of clothing fur-
nished by the Joint Distribu-
tion Committee is a real red-
letter event. It means that,
instead of rags and hand-me-
downs, the youngsters can
proudly wear brand-new shoes
and bright clean clothes to

school.
Figures on the most recent
distribution indicate that in
Casablanca alone 7,160 boys
and 5,908 girls, mainly between
the ages of 6 and 16, received
full sets of clothing.
The gran dtotal for the whole
of Morocco was 34,021 sets of
clothing — 18,952 for the boys
and 15,069 for the girls.
