TEL AVIV — The officers'
corps of the Israel army in-
cludes commissioned officers
who hail from 50 countries on
five continents, Prime Minister
Ben-Gurion declared Tuesday.
He made that statement while
addressing the officer& gradu-
ating class at a camp officially
designated only as "somewhere
in Israel." .
Speaking as Minister of De-
fense, which is the second of
his portfolios, Ben-Gurion re-
vealed that 37 per cent of the
officers in* Israel's defense*
force are native-born, while
the remainder were born in
23 European countries, 10
countries in Asia, eight in the
Americas, seven in Africa• and
some in Australia.
