United States and Canada of all

The Detroit League of the Jewish National Home for
Asthmatic Children announces plans to hold a tag day on
Monday, April 13, for the benefit of the new Children's Asthma
Research Institute and Hospital currently under construction
on the hospital's grounds at Denver. The U. S. Government
has allotted the Home $100,000 to build the research institute,
and to make it an international research center for pulmonary
diseases of children. Another $500,000 will be necessary to
complete and equip the building. A nationwide campaign of
tag days is under way, and Detroiters residing in the North-
west section will have the opportunity to particpate on April
13. In case of inclement weather, solicitation will be postponed
a day. Children at. the Home represent every color and creed,
and come from every state in the Union plus Canada, South
America, and Israel. Mrs. David Cooper, president of the

Keidan Portrait Honoring Memory
of Late Judge Given Wayne Court

Judge Ira W. Jayne, on be-
half of the Detroit Bar Associa-
tion, presented a portrait of the
late Circuit Court Judge Harry
B. Keidan, to the Wayne Cir-
cuit Bench. The portrait was
hung in the courtroom of Judge
Thomas Murphy.
Keidan, who died 16 years
ago, was a former chief assist-
ant county prosecutor, record-
ers court judge and finally
circuit judge, the post he held
until his death.

Speaking at the unveiling,
Judge Jayne referred to Keidan
as a "judicial statesman and a
true non-partisan judge." De-
troit Bar president Fred G.
Buesser Jr. termed Keidan
"that rare man—a prophet with
honor among those who knew
him best.
The ceremony was attended
by Keidan's widow, Mrs. Kate
Keidan, his son, Fred H., his
daughter, Mrs, Milton Berry and
other relatives.
