An idea of what awaits passengers aboard the Zim Lines'

parts of Israel.

SS Jerusalem is this portrait of cruise dining al fresco style.

Sunshine, balmy breezes, blue seas and the lavish Continental
cuisine of the luxury ship are some of the pleasures passengers
can expect from the 60-day grand cruise of the South Atlantic,
which sails Oct. 21 from New York and calls at 13 ports in 11
countries of West and South Africa, returning to New York
on Dec. 19.

Rabbi Judah Ha-Nassi, the
compiler of "Mishnah," who
lived some 18 centuries ago,
was lecturing one day before
his students, when his nostrils
were assailed by the odor of
garlic, in which a certain stu-
dent had indulged.
The great teacher was plainly
irritated, and, pausing in his
discourse, gave an order that
any student who had eaten the
obnoxious plant, should leave
the lecture-room immediately.
Nobody stirred. Evidently the
garlic-eater was ashamed to
acknowledge publicly that he
was the cause of the master's
annoyance.
Finally a student, named
Rabbi Hiya, rose from his seat
and walked out.
Rabbi Hiya was not guilty of
eating the odoriferous vege-
table, but he left the room in
order to make it easier for the
offender to do the same.
Presently another student left
the room, and a third; and soon
a general exodus started.
In a few moments not a
single student remained in the

ing activities by "Jeune Na-
tion," a movement originating
in France, which has extended
to Algeria and has been step-
ping up its anti-Semitic activi-
ties.
The movement here is com-
posed chiefly of middle class
university students known for
their racist and anti-Semitic
ideology. Jewish university
students have complained that
they have found their desks

and laboratory benches smeared
with swastikas and with slo-
gans reading: "Death to the
Jews!" and "Hitler Is Still
Alive."
Police and university author-
ities did detain 17 members of

"Jeune Nation" for question-
ing, but there have been no

prosecutions, due to what many
people here call the "delicate
political climate."

152 Ex-Gestapo Men
Hired by German State

STUTTGART (JTA)—There
are exactly 152 former members
of the Gestapo in the employ
of this Province of Baden-
Wurttemberg. The figure was
given officially by the state
government in response to a
previous demand in the provin-
cial legislature by Deputy Fritz
Helmstaedter, a member of the
opposition Social Democratic
Party.
A spokesman for the state
government said that dismissal
of the former Gestapo members
is difficult if not impossible
because of civil service reg-
ulations. However, it was an-
nounced that an investigation is
being conducted into the status
and activities of a number of
judges and state prosecutors
who allegedly had been mem-
bers of the "People's Courts"
under the Nazi regime.
