Allied Jewish Campaign Selects
Division Chairmen for '59 Drive

Luckoff

Irwin I. Cohn, chairman, and
Leonard N. Simons, co-chair-
man, of the 1959 Allied Jewish
Campaign, announce that Rich-
ard B. Kramer will be chair-
man of the metropolitan divi-
sion and Alan E. Luckoff has
been selected chairman of the
junior division. Kramer and
Luckoff return to the positions
they filled ably in the 1958
campaign. Luckoff is a member
of the board of governors of the
Jewish Welfare Federation.
Max J. Pincus is co-chairman
of the mercantile division.
Maurice B. Sandler is co-
chairman of the services divi-
sion.
Arthur Howard is co-chair-
man of the real estate division.
The current campaign will
average more than two fund-
raising meetings a day during
the coming week, as it picks up
intensity, spurred on by the
March 23 opening at the Sta tier-
Hilton Hotel.
Workers in the pre-campaign
(big gifts) division will hold a
weekly luncheon meeting in the
Butzel Building, at noon today.
Sunday, the campaign special
assignments section, under the
chairmanship of Maurice Schil-
ler, will meet at his home.
The food division, under the
chairmanship of Max M. Shaye,
will hold a report meeting, Sun-
day, at the Ten Mile Branch of
the Jewish Center.
The dentists and dental tech-
nicians section of the profes-
sional division will hold a

RICHMOND, Va.—The combined appeal here for UJA and

local capital needs is running far ahead of schedule, which is
credited to a new campaign technique. Each contributor was
mailed a phonograph record listing "five distinguished musical
works." After each, a local Jewish leader made a strong appeal
for UJA:

ROME—A report that Pope

circulated here Tuesday by the
Italian diplomatic agency.
According to the agency,
