Women Announce
Anniversary Contest

Bnai Brith Women have an-
nounced a golden anniversary
slogan contest open to all mem-
bers of the national Jewish
women's service organization.
The winning slogan, to be an-
nounced at the April, 1959, na-
tional biennial meeting in
Washington, D.C., will be used
as the theme for BBW celebra-
tions during the anniverary
year.
BBW's anniversary year be-
gan Monday, 50 years to the day
after the founding of its first
chapter in San Francisco, Calif.

Six U of M Freshmen
Win Oreon Scott Prize

The Oreon E. Scott Fresh-
man Prize will be awarded to
several Detroit students at the
University of Michigan on May
8, in recognition for ranking
in the upper five percent of
their class.

Omega dental fraternity, an-
nounces that final plans have
been made for the annual don-

A surprise birthday party was given last Sunday in honor of
Mr. Harry Ruda by his children, at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Abraham L. Ruda, of Westhampton Ave., Oak Park. His other
children are Mrs. Gertrude Hyams, Dr. and Mrs. Aaron H.
Haskin, of Newark, N.J., Mr. and Mrs. Julius Ruda and Mr.
and Mrs. Oscar Wolfe, of Wyandotte. Mr. Ruda also has 25
grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The Jenny's Family Club recently was host at a dinner party
given in celebration of the return of Air Force Cadet David
Lewis from Guam. A gift was presented from the club by Dr.
Allen Alexander, president. Also celebrated were the birthdays
of Evelyn Lewis, Elayne Lewis and Dolores Caplan.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Cohen will celebrate their 25th wedding
anniversary at a party planned for the evening of March 21, in
