pating in sessions of the Inaug-
ural Conference for Israel Bonds
currently being held in Miami
Beach.
The most important single
action to be taken by American
Jewry, to provide Israel with
the resources for the economic
absorption of tens of thousands
of new immigrants from East-
ern Europe will be the launch-
ing this weekend of a new $300,-
000,000 State of Israel Bond
issue.
More than 1.600 leaders from
various parts of the United
States and Canada have assem-
bled in Miami Beach for the
three - day conference, ; which
marks the official start of the
new Second Development Issue
of Israel Bonds.
The highlight of the confer-
ence will be a great nationwide
tribute dinner to Mrs. Golda
Meir, Israel's Minister of Fi-
nance, honoring her 30 years of
historic leadership in the build-
ing of Israel. Admission to the
dinner, this Saturday evening,
is based on the purchase of
$1,000 or more in State of Is-
rael Bonds.

mittee, under the chairmanship
of Lawrence G. Laskey, with
Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt as
honorary chairman, includes

distinguished leaders.
