Dr. David Levenson

The engagement of Karen
Nancy Purnell and Dr. David S.
Levenson was recently announc-
ed at a cocktail party at the-
bride's home in Bloomfield
Township.
Miss Purnell, daughtei of Mrs.
B. Purnell and the late Mr. Pur-
nell, attended the University of
Michigan, where she was a
member of Delta Phi Epsilon
sorority. She now attends Wayne
State University.
Dr. Levenson, son of Mrs. Ed-
ward Levenson and the late Dr.
Levenson, is a graduate of the
Univeisity of Michigan medical
school, where he was affiliated
with Phi Delta Epsilon frater-
nity. He is now interning at Har-
per Hospital.
A June wedding is planned.

Harold J. Davison and Dr. Gertrude Zeman Gass will be among
the participantS in the fourth annual "Age of Opportunity" con-
ference for Detroit area women on March 6, at Rackham Memorial
Bldg. Sponsored by the University of Michigan extension service
and the Detroit Federation of Women's Clubs, the conference
will have as its theme, "Home, Health and Happiness."
Listed among the 100 persons of a nationwide tribute to
Mrs. Golda Meier, Israel Minister for Foreign Affairs, are De-
troiters Louis Berry and Mrs. Joseph Katchke. Gov . Williams also
is a sponsor of the tribtite to Mrs. Meir's 30 years of leadership
for Israel, which will be" celebrated March '7, at a dinner at
Miami, conducted by State of Israel Bonds.
Mrs. Fanny Katzman, of the Belcrest Hotel, has left for
Florida, where she will spend the remainder of the winter. She
will return home after Passover. ,
Mr. and Mrs. ,Ameroll F. Rothschild and son, Charles,
formerly of Wildemere Ave., have moved to 1937 Bayberry Lane,
Flint, Mich., where Mr. Rothschild, a registered architect, is
now associated with A. Charles Jones, Architect. The Rothschilds'
daughter, Marilyn, is presently a student at the University of
Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Franklin, of Lauder Ave., have left for
a three-week stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton E. Shore and son, Gerald, are residing
in their new home at 18619 Hartwell.
Rabbi and Mrs. Joseph Elias, Mrs. Israel I. Rockove and
Mrs. Milton Duchan have returned fr o
- m a convention of the
National Association of Hebrew Day School PTAs, held Feb. 22
and 23, in Harrisburg, Pa. Rabbi Elias was chairman of a princi-
pal-teachers meeting and also served as chairamn of the con-
vention round-table. Mrs. Elias spoke on arts and crafts at a
workshop on the subject.
The Dean's List of Rensselaer. Polytechnic Institute, Troy,
N.Y., for the fall term which ended Jan. 21 has just been made
public. It recognizes students for exceptionally able scholastic
work. Among them is Jerry L. Kazdan, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Herman Kazdan, 24321 Blackstone, Oak Park. He is a senior in
physics at the Institute.

Fresh Salmon Salad

Cut 2-lbs. fresh salmon into
serving pieces and cook in one
quart water with one teaspoon
salt, one-fourth 'teaspoon pep-
per, and half teaspoon spices.
Remove the fish carefully and
cool. Serve each piece on let-
tuce leaves garnished with half

teaspoon mayonnaise and one-
half hard boiled egg.

Mock Marrow Balls

Mix one tablespoon melted
fat with one teaspoon chopped
parsley, one well beaten egg, 5
tablespoons bread crumbs, half
teaspoon salt, and one-eighth
teaspoon pepper. Mix thorough-
ly, form balls and drop into
boiling soup. Cook for 10 min-
utes.
