Samuel at the Council Book
Review Club meeting to be

Mrs. Avner Naggar, Council
membership chairman, a n -
nounced that agroup of Oak
Park pre-teens have become
affiliated with Pioneer Women
in support of its fund-raising
activities, under the leadership
of Mrs. Sidney Ferst.
Their first project will be
the purchase of a record player
for one of the organization's
teen-age homes in Nazareth,
Israel, which will initiate a
pen pal relationship between
the members and the Israeli
children.
The club, named Pioneer
Tweens, has elected Goldie
Simmer, president; Leah Rosen-
thal, vice-president; Linda
Ferst, secretary; Elaine Korn-
field, treasurer; Gail Foster,
sergeant-at-arms; Marcia Green-
berg, Patty Kushner and Gail

Post 218 announces that Hetty
Weil, a Wayne State University
education major, has been
named a recipient of the Post's
200 scholarship award. Hetty
is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Alan Weil, of 4248 Tyler. Both
parents are affiliated with the
AL.
The presentation will be
made at an open meeting at 9
p.m., Wednesday, at Cong. Beth
Yehudah, 17556 Wyoming. A
film, "We Who Serve," will be
shown, according to service

Cincinnati Professor Is
Visiting Chief at Sinai

Visiting Chief Day will be
held at Sinai Hospital on
March 5, when Dr. Leon Schiff,
professor of clinical medicine
at the University of Cincinnati
college of medicine, will be
visiting chief.
Included on the program will
be a clinical conference at 9
a.m., followed by a lecture on
"Spleno-Portal Venography" at
11 a.m., lunch at 12 noon and
clinical rounds at 1:30 p.m.
All interested physicians are

Seminary Cites NBC
with Award for 'Vision'

An award citing the National
Broadcasting Company for its
"vision, wisdom and profound
understanding of the responsi-
bility of radio broadcasting and
the role of communication in
our society," was presented to
Robert Kintner, president of
NBC by Dr. Moshe Davis, pro-
vost of the Jewish Theological
Seminary of America, following
the regular dramatic broadcast
of the Eternal Light last Sun-
day.
The program, "As A Wind
That Blows" by Morton Wish-
eng,rad, was the first of 15 broad-
casts which are being recre-
ated at this time to mark the
fifteenth anniversary of the
Eternal Light radio series on
the National Broadcasting Com-
pany coast-to-coast radio net-
work.

Mrs. Shuster to Head
Folk Schools PT-A

Mrs. David Shuster will serve
as new president of the Parent
Teachers Association of the
United Jewish Folk Schools,
following her unanimous elec-
tion at last week's general as-
sembly.

Temple Israel Cubs
Plan Annual Banquet

Cub Scout Pack 146, spon-
sored by Temple Israel, will
hold its annual Blue and Gold
Banquet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday,
in the temple's Leon Fram Hall.
Celebrating the 20th anniver-
sary of Cub Scouting at Temple
Israel, the event will include
dinner, entertainment, awards,
souvenirs and honors to out-
going leaders. Cubs and their
families will attend.
The pack is open -to all boys
between the ages of 8 and 10,
and is under sponsorship of the
temple Men's Club. Boys join-
ing before Tuesday are eligible
to attend the banquet. For in-

Music Study Juniors
to See Member Perform

Bob Bodson, president of the
Junior Music Study Club, an-
nounces that the symphony
form, with illustrations from
symphonic recordings, will be
discussed at 1 p.m., Sunday, in
the home of David Garelick,

Following the program, the
group will leave for the Davi
son branch of the Jewish Com-
munity Center to hear fellow
member, Rita Sloan, 15-year-old
pianist, who will be presented
by Julius Chajes in a recital at
2:30 p.m.

10th Anniversary Dinner
Planned by Labor Zionists

Branch 11, Labor Zionist
Organization of America, will
celebrate the 10th anniversary
of its founding with a dinner
at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, at Jeri's.
Branch 11 is named after Dan-
iel Ginsberg and Joseph Rosen-
berg, who were killed in World
War II.

Omitted erroneously from the
listing of community women
who are prominently mentioned
in the new Who's Who of Amer-
ican Women was Mrs. Leonard
Sims.
Mrs. Sims, who is mentioned
among the city's prominent club
women, is a leading figure in
local and national Bnai Brith
activities. She is the only
woman to have served two suc-
cessive terms as national mem-
bership chairman of the Bnai
Brith.

Cinerama Anniversary

To commemorate the sixth
anniversary of Cinerama in De-
troit, the Music Hall Theater
management is seeking the

Noodles and Nuts
Boil one pound fine noodles
in salted water until tender.
Drain and mix with 3 table-
spoons melted butter, half cup
crushed walnuts, 2 tablespoons
sugar, and half teaspoon salt.
Serve hot.

Baked Egg Squares
Beat 4 eggs well, add half
teaspoon salt, half cup milk,
and half cup cream. Pour into
custard cups, place into a pan
of hot water and bake until
firm. Cut into pieces, and serve
with creamed milk soup.
