Rites for Sept. 20

Mrs. Dorothy Weingarden spent last weekend away from her
desk at Sidney-Hill Northwest Club to visit her children in New
York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Jules Sanders, of Huntington Woods, are enter-
taining at a brunch this Sunday in celebration of the 50th wedding
anniversary of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice H. Shapiro.
Out-of-town guests will be here from New York, Toronto and
Cleveland.
Rita Sloan. 15-year-old pianist, will be presented by Julius
Chajes in a recital at the Davison Jewish Center, Sunday, at
2:30 p.m.

Windsor Community Concert Is 1st
Major Event in New Jewish Center

Culminating Jewish Music
Month, which ends officially on
Feb. 24, will be the fourth an-
nual Jewish Music Festival spon-
sored by the Windsor Jewish
Community Council.
The concert, to be held at
8:15 p.m., this Sunday. and will
he the first major function stag-
ed in the new Jewish Commu-
nity Center building, 1641 Ouel-
lette, in Windsor. The Detroit
community is invited to attend.
A special feature of the per-
formance will he the appearance
of a chamber orchestra, under
the direction of Sid Levine. The
musicians are being provided in
cooperation with the Windsor
Federation of Musicians, Local
566, through a grant from the
Music Performance Trust Fund
of the recording industry.
Soloists at the concert will
include Ruth Pohjola, pianist:
Ruth Katzman. singer; Cantor S.
Schenker, of Shaar Hashomayim
Synagogue; and Lasse Pohjola,
violinist.
A program of folk songs will
be presented on the recorder by
a group of people who meet

proprietor. when a customer's
prescription purchases reach
$77. the next 550 are filled free
of charge within- the member-
ship period. Under the -plan.
only members of the immediate
family (the head of the house-
hold, his wife and children) can
use its privileges.
Baskin has seven-day-a-week
pick-up and delivery service:
