$250,000 Grant Aids
Aged Nazi Victims
NEW YORK, (PTA)-A spe-
cial floor to care for the vic-
tims of.Nazi persecution in need
of long-term medical, nursing
and rehabilitation services was
opened here at the Beth Abra-
ham Home. The floor equipped
and staffed by a grant of $250,-
000 from United Help, Inc., an
American agency which super-
vises the distribution of funds
received by the Jewish Restitu-
tion Successor Organization
from Germany.
The project, the first of its
kind in the United States, is
designed to care for chronically
ill or aged persons no longer
able to care for themselves at
home. The project, which will
go on until 1975, will provide
c re for a total of 35 in-
capacitated patients. The first
group of patients to be moved
to the special floor are 15
women, averaging 80 years of
age. 'Most of them are former
inmates of Nazi concentration
camps.
