Roosevelt Here Form Chapter Gold Star Group in Feb. 14 Ceremony to of Denver Hospital e The Gold Star Parents of the Jewish War Veterans will be guests of honor at a meeting of Board of the JWV Memorial Home Association at 11 a.m., Sunday, at the Memorial Home. The organization, composed of mothers and fathers of the Jewish servicemen from this area who fell in World War II and in the Korean conflict, have taken a leading role in the crea- tion and maintenance of the Memorial Home at Davison and Petoskey. Aaron Canner is the presi- dent of the Gold Star Parents and Meyer Silverman, the first president of the group, serves as honorary president. Samuel J. Rhodes, president emeritus of Memorial Home, will address the meeting, and will make a special presentation to the parents on behalf of the Association. Bernard Hoffman is chairman of the committee arranging the program and the breakfast which will precede it. Also participating will be Harry T. Madison, past national ,TWV commander and a past president of the Memorial Home. A special award will be given to Harry Docks, local command leader, for supporting the home and its aims and pur- poses. Honor Dr. Sachar's 60th Birthday with `Tel-E-Phon' Drive The Detroit Chapter of the Brandeis University Women's Committee will join 104 similar groups from coast to coast in a nationwide salute to Dr. Abram Leon Sachar, president of the university, on his 60th birthday. The tribute to Dr. Sachar will take the form of a "Tel-E- Phon" campaign on Feb. 15 for new annu- al and life members. It is exepcted that thousands of women will enroll during the drive. Results of t h e national drive will be announced by Mrs. David S. Dr. Sachar Rose, national president, at a birthday dinner in New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel, which is being given by trustees and fel- lows of the university. Annual membership dues and life membership fees are the main sources of funds for the Brandeis University Women, which has as its main project support of the university's lib- rary. Mrs. Arthur Rice, president of the Detroit Chapter, an- nounces that Mrs. Maurice Schiller, vice-president of mem- bership, and Mesdames Herbert Frank and Saul J. Rubin are chairmen of the local "Tel-E- Phon" drive.
