marriage on Feb. 1 of Jayne Ann
Kay and Richard Alan Jones,
The . wedding was solemnized
by Rabbi Irwin I. Hyman, of
Temple Adath Yeshurun, in the
Grand Ballroom of the Hotel
Syracuse, Syracuse, N.Y.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Kay, of
Syracuse. Mr. Jones is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Jones,
of Muirland Ave., Detroit.
For her wedding the bride
wore a gown of ivory silk peau
de soie and Argentan lace that
was fashioned with a fitted
basque bodice and neckline out-
lined with hand-clipped lace.
The sleeves were shirred and of
elbow-length, and the back-swept
skirt formed a chapel train.
The veil of imported illusion
was held in place by a clip of
leaves of matching material.
She carried a cascade bouquet
of white phaelanopsis and steph-
anotis.
Mrs. Ivan Kushen, sister of
the bridegroom from Chicago,
Ill., was matron of honor, and
bridesmaids were Ellan Oren-
stein, of Syracuse, Jane Baum,
of Detroit, Phyllis Lavine, of
Idaho Falls, Ida., and Roberta
Fink, of South Bend, Ind.
Richard L. Kay, the bride's
brother, was best man, and ush-
ers included Richard Baum, of
New York City, Ivan Kushen,
Michael Press, of Forest Hills,
N.Y., Jon Desenberg, of Detroit,
and Jack Calechman, of Cam-
bridge, Mass.
Following a dinner and recep-
tion in the hotel, the newlyweds
left for a two-week honeymoon
trip to Jamaica and the Virgin
Islands. On their return, they
will take up residence in Oak
Park, Mich. -

the winter months in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Merton Robbins (Helene Penn) have recently
returned from a honeymoon in Las Vegas, Nev. and Los Angeles,
Calif., and are residing in their home at 20803 Kenosha, Oak
Park.
Playing host recently on an eight-day Florida holiday for
winners of a Serta Perfect Sleeper Mattress dealer's contest were

group, which stayed at the new • Diplomat Hotel in North Holly-

Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Goodman, of Freeland Avenue, are
on an extended trip to Israel and European countries.
Mrs. Eugene Franzblau, of 18651 _Roselawn, is in San Rafael,
Calif., to welcome her new granddaughter, Beth Ann Franzblau,
daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael J. Franzblau.
Miss Edna Tobin recently entertained family and friends
of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tobin at a surprise dinner celebrating the
couple's 38th wedding anniversary. Out-of-town guests included
Mr. and Mrs. Ben-Zion Gotlieb, their daughter and son-in-law,
of Flint, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Dorb, of Cherrylawn Ave., have left
for New York City, where Mr. Dorb is attending the conven-
tion of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers at the
Statler Hotel.
Mr. Sol Jonas, of Grinnell Bros., was in New York City to
attend a week-long sales training course at the headquarters of
Steinway & Sons, piano manufacturing firm.

to Maccabees Feb. 12

guest speaker at a meeting of
the Maccabees Mattathias Tent

will be "The

ments in the
Middle East."
A film, "Ad-
venture in Is-
rael," will be Dr. Winshall
shown at the- meeting.
Dr. Winshall is a leader in
the Zionist Organization of
Detroit and is active in its
numerous projects here.
Center to Offer
Milady a Day Out
"Ladies Day Out"—an oppor-
tunity for women to get out of
the house and participate in a
variety of activities—will be
launched by the Jewish Commu-
nity Center Feb. 18.
A 10-week program will begin
on that date at the Davison
branch, and will offer "slim-
nastics" in the mornings and
arts and crafts for three after-
noon sessions.
Ladies are requested to bring
their own lunch. Drink and des-
sert will be provided by the
Center. There will be a nursery
service with no additional
charge for children 21/2 to 5
years of age.
Interested women should reg-
ister at the Davison branch on
or'before Tuesday, Feb. 10. The
series of 10 sessions will be
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Old Timers Hold
Annual Dinner
Over 300 members and guests
of the Hannah Schloss Old
Timers attended the organiza-
tion's annual dinner meeting
last week at the Statler-Hilton
Hotel, when eight new board
members were installed.
They are Peter Chodoroff,
Nathaniel H. Goldstick, Saul E.
Gordon, Michael Greene, Harry
T. Madison, Max G. Solvonek,
Edward I. Schlusel and Harry
Trusky.
Samuel Raskin was installing
officer, and Irwin I. Cohn, pres-
ident of the Old Timers, was
chairman. The invocation was
given by Goldstick.
The group dates back to the
Hannah Schloss Memorial Bldg.,
which was dedicated in 1903 by
the United Jewish Charities.
The building was the forerun-
ner of the present-day Jewish
Community Center.

Senior Girls Win
DAR Awards
Barbara Leinoff and Susan
Siegel have been named by Cen-
tral and Mumford High Schools,
respectively, to receive the an-
nual citizenship award pre-
sented by the Daughters of the
American Revolution.
The citations are made an-
nually to a senior girl from each
high school in the state on the
basis of leadership, loyalty and
interest in family, school, com-
munity and nation.
Barbara and Susan, in receiv-
ing the. DAR award, join Ellen
Stutz and Risa Axelrod, who
previously were announced as
winners of the honor at Berkley
and Royal Oak Dordero High
Schools.
Barbara, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Maurice Leinoff, of 3244
Waverly, is treasurer of her
June graduating class, a past
president of the biology club
and a member of the science
club. She also is a vice-president
of Dora Savage Chapter, Bnai
Brith Girls, and was previously
active in the Adas Shalom youth
group.
Susan is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Benjamin Siegel, of
18035 Griggs. She was recently
named one of seven students
from the Northwest district to
join with 100 adult civic leaders
in the Citizens for Schools Com-
mittee, a group pressing for
passage of tax- millage in an ef-
fort to better school conditions.
She serves as secretary-treas-
urer of the Science Club, is a
past officer of the Ushers Club,
a school service , organization
and was a member of the now
defunct Detroit Association of
Science Clubs.
Both girls are excellent stu-
dents, Susan being a semi-final-
ist in the Nation-al Merit
Awards. All of the individual
school winners will be honored
at a luncheon on March 20, at
which a state winner will be
picked to receive a $100 U.S.
Government Bond.
The Boy Scouts International
Bureau at Ottawa,. Canada, co-
ordinates Scouting in 67 na-
tions.
