`Spectator' Editor
to Talk on Beliefs
of Modern Judaism
Dr. T r u d e Weiss-Rosmarin,
editor of the English-Jewish
journal "The Jewish Spectator,"
will address the Beth Aaron
Men's Club at 8:30 p.m., Jan. 14,
in the Synagogue social hall.
She will speak on "What Can
Modern Jews Believe?", an in-
terpretation of Judaism for con-
temporary times.

swer period will follow her talk
and refreshments will be served.
The program is free and open
to the pubic.

Wisconsin Ave., was wed to
Gerald Katz, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Katz, of Holmur Ave.,
in an evening ceremony at Adas
Shalom Synagogue, Dec. 28.
The bride wore a floor-length
gown of Italian silk peau de
soie, trimmed in Pointe Leon
lace, with a chapel train. The
fingertop illusion veil was em-
broidered in seed pearls.
Matron of honor was Jacque-
line Woolf, and bridesmaids
were Irene Shapiro, of New
York, Geri Morrison, Janice Ku-
chinski, Marianne Jaye- and
Gayle Nichamin.
Attending the bridegroom
were Herbert Katz as best
man, Jack SWartz, Donald Aa-
ron, Julian Fuetst, Marvin
Schultz and Alan Morrison, ush-
ers.
The couple are presently hon-
eymooning in the East. On their
return they will reside on Hill-
side Dr.

a national conference of Habo-
nim in New York, today through

National education and organ-

Temple Israel, was in East
Lansing on New Year's Day, to
participate for the sixth consec-
utive time in the inauguration
of G. Mennen Williams as Gov-
ernor of the state of Michigan.
Rabbi Fram spent the day in the
state capital to attend the in-
augural luncheon and the in-
augural dinner and ball which
followed that evening.

President Isaac Gruskin advises
that relatives and friends are
invited to attend the dinner,
which will feature dancing, mu-
sic, entertainment and a floor
show. The guests of honor will
be given awards at the banquet.
Aliens Must Report
Address This Month
Walter A. Sahli, district di-
rector of the Immigration and
Naturalization Service advised
today that the annual alien ad-
dress report program is again
under way.
The immigration official
pointed out that the address re-
ports are required by law and
willful failure to comply with
these requirements ma _ y lead to
serious consequences. Forms
with which to make the reports
are available at all post offices
and immigration offices.
Sahli added that trained per-
sonnel will be on hand in all
immigration offices to answer
questions regarding immigration
and naturalization matters.

Larry Altman, a former staff
member of The Jewish News
who is currently a member of
the copy desk of The Detroit
Times, will have a story in the
January issue of Tradition, a
newly-published local magazine.
Altman, of 18426 Rosemont,
in "The Fighting Lady," re-
lates the little-known tale of
Deborah Sampson, who mas-
queraded as a man for nearly
two years during the Revolu-
tionary War, to serve in the
Colonial Army.
Tradition, published by the
American Tradition Corp., in
Detroit, began with a December
number. The magazine is avail-
able on news stands.
