A resident here for many
years, Mr. Bloom was the pro-
prietor of the
Mayfair Kosh-
er Catering
Company. He
had been ac-
tive in num-
erous philan-
thropic causes,
and for almost
30 years he
was a m e tu-
ber of Meze-
r i t c h e r Aid
Mr. Bloom
Society. He also was affiliated
with Beth Aaron Synagogue and
the United Friendship Club.
He leaves his wife, Lillian;
a son, Harvey; a daughter,
Shirley; a brother, Jules; and
two grandchildren. The family

John Horwitz, long-time na-
tional leader of Bnai Brith and
a prominent figure in the Mid-
western Jewish community,
died here last week after a
long illness. He was 45.
