Circle Branches Move
Events to New Building

.Workmen's Circle Branch
460 will have Dr. Irving Edgar
as featured speaker on -the
topic "A Psychiatrist Looks at
Television," at 9 p.m., Jan. 23,
at the Workmen's Circle's new
building, 18340 W. Seven Mile,
at Glastonbury. The Branch
also plans elections for Jan.
31, with nominations being
held on Jan. 9.
With the transfer of Work-
men's Circle activities to the
new building, the Women's Di-
vision has resumed its weekly
luncheons and will install its
new officers at a banquet on
Jan. 10.
On Jan. 25, the entire
Workmen's Circle will honor
Saul Maltz, director of its Jew-
ish Schools, on the occasion of
his 50th birthday.
Many • other meetings and
classes have been moved to
the new building from their
makeshift locations and will be
convening at the new building
on a permanent basis.

Temple Actors Guild

Temple Israel Actor's Guild
will present Jewish Community
Center drama director Jerome
Bayer at 8 p.m., Wednesday, in
the Temple's Leon Fram Hall.
Bayer, the author of many
plays for stage and radio, and
a national authority on crea-
tive acting, will talk on "A
Modern Approach to the Tech-
nique of Acting." The event is
open to the public.
Tryouts for the Guild's pro-
duction of Sylvia Regan's
"Morning Star," will be held
on Jan. 13 and 14, in the Fram
Hall. The play will be pre-
sented on March 24, 25 and 26.
Persons interested in joining
the Guild and trying out for
the parts are invited to attend
the auditions.

Institute to Feature
Film Show of `Dybbuk'

"The Dybbuk," the full-length
Yiddish film classic, by S. An-
sky, will be shown at the Shol-
em Aleichem Institute, 19350
Greenfield, at 9 p.m., Saturday.
The film has English sub-titles.
The public is invited.
Other events being planned

nights. At 9 p.m., Jan. 9, Moishe
Haar, Institute director, will re-
view Boris Pasternak's "Dr. Zhi-
vago," in Yiddish.

Honor New Argentine
Ambassador to Israel

BUENOS AIRES (JTA)—The
DAIA, central representative
organization of Argentine
Jewry, gave a send-off luncheon
to Dr. Rudolf() Garcia Arias,
Argentina's new Ambassador to
Israel.
Dr. Garcia Arias is a career
diplomat who is a former Am-
bassador to Tokyo and one-
time Under Secretary in the
Foreign Ministry. In a brief
address, the new envoy said
Israel is an "exponent of intelli-
gence, culture and democracy."
Among the other guests at
the function were Dr. Ariel
Leavivi, Israel's new Minister
to Argentina, and Dr. Gregorio
Topolevsky, last Argentine Am-
bassador to Israel. Dr. Abra-
ham, Mibashan, DAIA head.
