Active for many years in Bnai Brith and the Masonic Order, lie was among the pop- ular community leaders. Today, on the eve of his 90th birthday, Edwards still is an avid reader, takes an inter- est in cultural affairs, is deep- ly devoted to congregational affairs and remains a strong was then three years old, and he recalls saying he wanted to get dressed because it was day- light — mistaking the fire for sunlight.
