Doesn't Answer," the first fea-
ture film produced in Israel,
this week at the Studio Thea-
ter. Now showing, the movie
will be withdrawn from circu-
lation after its one-week per-
formance here.
The film stars Haya Hat alit,
who won the award for best
actress at the Cannes Film
Festival for her portrayal of
Miriam Mizrahi. Others in the
cast are Edward Mulhare, who
plays the rebellious Irishman,
James Finnegan; Michael Wa-
ger, as an American Jew
fighting for Israel; Margalit
Oved, Shoshana Damari and
Yosef Yadin.
Hill 24 is one of the foot-
hills dominating the approach
to Jerusalem. At the outset
of the War of Independence
four volunteers set out to save
it. Their story of courage is
the theme of the film.
Among t h e highlights of
"Hill 24" are the struggle of
the underground against the
British, the landing of illegal
immigrants, the blood vs. oil
problem in the Middle East,
the invasion of Israel by the
Arabs, the siege of Jerusalem
and other authentic scenes
which have become a part
of the history of Israel and
the Middle East.
"Hill 24 Doesn't Answer"
will run through Wednesday.
