Redelheim made the an- nouncement at a meeting of the national executive council of the organization. Israel Plans Free Profits Transfer for Its Investors Direct JTA Teletype Wire to The Jewish News JERUSALEM — Unrestricted freedom to transfer profits abroad will be guaranteed for- eign investors in Israeli busi- ness and industry under a new economic program being pre- pared by the government, it was announced here Tuesday. The program to be submitted to parliament soon, in the hope it will achieve passage before the end of the current fiscal year, is aimed at attracting cap- ital investment to Israel. It would exempt from customs, ex- cise and purchase imposts all materials needed by enterprises given official authorization. The investors' property will be exempted from inheritance taxes. In addition, the investor will receive income tax concessions for the first five years after the investment is made. Approved enterprises also will receive concessions in relation to the foreign currency loans they re- quire and in loans of Israeli pounds. When passed, the measure will be retroactive to last April. Hitherto, foreign investors were limited to ten per cent a year in the export of their profits in the form of foreign currency. Sen. Kennedy to Press for Relaxed Immigration Law NEW YORK (JTA)—Senator John Kennedy of Massachusetts said that a change in U.S. basic immigration policy is long over- due and that in the new Con- gress convening next month he would press for legislation eliminating the restrictive and discriminatory features of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952. The senator's statement was issued in conjunction with a study on immigration he made for the Anti-Defamation League of Bnai Brith.
