provide atmosphere, Mumford

The dance was under the di-
rection of Marie Scruggs and
Stuart Friedman, co-chairmen of

Parents Club gave financial as-
sistance and served as chaper-
ons. Reigning as the king and
queen for the evening were
Karen Borin and Harvey Lash.

Central is proud to boast of
its victorious basketball team.
Last Friday, the Trailblazers
defeated Cass, 64-55. The Tech-
nicians led only in the begin-
ning minutes of the first quar-
ter. The 'Blazers controlled
the remainder of the game in
expert fashion. Today's game
will be played against North-
ern. A sell-out crowd is ex-
pected for the season's first
basketball game at Central.

French, Spanish and Latin
clubs held their annual joint
meeting yesterday after school
hours. The French and Spanish
clubs supplied entertainment by
singing songs in those lan-
guages. The Latin club of-
fered surprises by wearing
togas, the apparel worn by the
former Latin-speaking people.
Its members amused the other
clubs by doing a satire on a
Roman mythological story.

Soviet Ballet to Perform Here
The Beryozka Russian F o 1 k
Ballet, which has scored suc-
cesses in engagements abroad,
will appear in De t r o i t for
the first tim e at the Mas-

ances beginning Thursday. The
Moscow company, presented by
S. Hurok, will make a ten-
week national tour as part of
the cultural exchange program
between the U.S. and the So-
