A Detroit-born violinist who
now makes his home in Cleve-
land . will be joined by a talented
local soprano at the 23rd annual
Artists Concert of the Music
Study Club.
Appearing Sunday evening, at
8:30 p.m., in the main audito-
rium of the Detroit Institute of
Arts, will be Jerome Rosen and
Linda Newman.
Their appearance marks the
only fund-raising event carried
on by the Music Study Club,
which was founded 35 years ago
to assist young artists in getting
started in the -music field and
to provide scholarships for

Rosen is replacing Isidor Sas-
lov, another youthful violinist,
on the program. The latter was
recently awarded a fellowship
by the West German govern-
ment to study for a year at
Munich's Musikhochschule.
