Cong. Hays is noted as one
of the leading non-Jewish sup-
porters for Israel. He has spoken
frequently in the House and at
civic gatherings on the moral
issues that face the world in the
Middle East situation today.
The fund-raising drive of Pio-
neer Women, seeks to raise
thousands of dollars to maintain
educational and social services
institutions in Israel, operated
by Moetzet Hapoalot, sister or-
ganization of Pioneer Women in
the Jewish state.
Mrs: Irving Posner, president
of the PW Council, has advised.
that organizations may contri-
bute to the donor event through
the group's conservations fund,
created to strengthen Israel by
developing productive citizens
through training and rehabilita-
tion of immigrants.

Grinnell Grand Opera competi-
tion, Miss Newman was chosen
runner-up. She has appeared in
the "Telemann's Pimpinone"
and in the New York premiere
of Seymour Barab's new opera
"Chanticleer:"
Lawrence LaGore will be pia-
nist for the young artists, and
Dr. Nathan Gillin, clarinetist,
will assist in Schubert's "The
Shepherd on the Rocks".
