Israel Smashes
Arab Spy Ring

TEL AVIV, (JTA)—Another
Arab spy ring inside Israel was
smashed and 10 Arab youths
living in Galilean villages have
been arrested for supplying in-
formation to the Syrian military
authorities, Israeli security of-
ficials announced. They said
the Arab youths had confessed.
The break-up of an Arab espi-
onage network several months
ago led to the investigation
which produced the latest re-
sults, Israel security officials
said. Several months of trailing
the Arab youths uncovered the
fact that they were keeping tabs
on Israeli Army movements in
Northern Israel and passing
on the information to Syria
intelligence.
Two of the members of the
ring, Israeli authorities re-
vealed, are brothers and the
scions of a prominent Galilee
family. It is understood that
the Israeli military is check-
ing on Israeli Arab residents
said to have given haven to
agents from the nearby states.

Gilmore Lauds Israel,
Calls Nasser a Hitler

Eddy Gilmore, Pulitzer Prize
winner as a foreign correspond-
ent, addressing the Town Hall
Wednesday, spoke of Israel as
one of the few countries up on
which the democracies can de-
pend on, and declared that "we
must try to do something to pro-
tect Israel's borders."
He spoke of Nasser as being
another Hitler. Khrushchev, he
said, is "an unscrupulous, ruth-
less politician."
Warning that American sup-
remacy has just about passed,
Gilmore said that "we now
can't afford to give millions to
just anyone who asks for it."
