Youth from all temples of
Liberal Judaism throughout
Michigan will gather at Temple
Israel this weekend for a two-
day conference.
At the invitation of Dr. Leon
Fram, of the host congrega-
tion, the young people will par-
ticipate in sabbath eve serv-
ices at 8:30 p.m., today, when
Benjamin Morris, of Temple
Beth Israel, Jackson, president
of the Michigan State Federa-
tion of Temple Youth, will
deliver the sermon. The Bar
Mitzvah of Kenneth Leslie Lip-
sitt will be observed.
During the day on Saturday,
rabbis from state temples will
comprise a faculty to address
the youth on the general theme
of "The Prophets."
Among the faculty will be
Rabbi Harry Essrig, of Grand
Rapids; Rabbi Nathan Hersh-
field, of Pontiac; Rabbi William
Sajowitz, of Flint; Rabbi Morris
Shapiro, of Jackson; Rabbi
Joseph Schwarz, • of Benton
Harbor; Dr. Richard C. Hertz
and Rabbi David A. Baylinson,
of Temple Beth El; Rabbi Mil-
ton Rosenbaum, of Temple
Emanu-El, Dr. Fram and Rabbi
M. Robert Syme, of the host
congregation.
Following services today, the
young people will meet for an
oneg shabbat, and on Saturday
night, a dance will be held in
the Leon Fram Hall.

will preach on "The Sources and Values of Traditions."
The Bar Mitzvah of Stephen Friedman will be observed.
