INDA ANN GOLDBERG is held by her mother, Mrs.
FLORENCE GOLDBERG, as she points to a plaque which has
been erected outside the Hebrew Academy, in Oak Park, to
mark the playground given to the school in her honor by her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Goldberg. Inda Ann is a kinder-
garten student at the school. Participating in the ceremonies
were Peter S. Goldstein, after whom the school, a branch of
the Yeshivath Beth Yehudah, is named; Joshua Barzilay, a
grade school student who made the acceptance speech; and
Rabi Jacob Levi, supervisor of the branch.

Mishkan Israel
Sets Dedicatian

'Cong. Mishkan Israel, one of
the new synagogues in Oak Park,
will be formally dedicated in
ceremonies planned for Dec. 7,
announces Rabbi Isaac Stoliman,
spiritual leader.
Formerly located at Blaine
and Linwood, the synagogue is
now completing its new building
on MT. Nine Mile and Clover-
lawn.
The dedication, which coin-
cides with the first day of Hanu-
kah, will feature the participa-
tion of numerous religious and
civic dignitaries, including na-
tionally-prominent Cantor Jacob
Ederman, of New York, who
will be heard in a concert of
liturgical music.
Rabbi Stollman, one of this
city's most revered orthodox
leaders, is currently president
of the Religious Zionist Organi-
zation of America (Mizrachi-
Hapoel Hamizrachi).
New and old members of the
synagogue and the entire com-
munity has been invited to par-
ticipate in the festivities.

TASTE and VERSATILITY

.

By the Oak-Woodser
In the ever-running commen-
tary on suburban living, much
criticism has been leveled
against synagogue members as
"joiners" but not participants.
The very word "suburban"
no longer is used solely to
mean living in the suburbs;
it depicts, as well, a certain
kind of living which supposed-
ly is typical of the outlying
areas of the large metropolis.
But charges — sometimes
well taken and otherwise
generalizations — have been
important as spurs to the
spiritual growth of "suburb-
an" living. This applies to
the Jewish community, as
well as the general commun-
ity.
At the Young Israel Center
of Oak-Woods this week there
will begin the fifth consecutive
year of the adult education
