for Saskatchewan Pioneer

REGINA, Sask., (JTA)-Can-
ada's Department of Natural
Resources has named a bay one
and a half miles long for Nathan
Friedman, a Saskatchewan pio-
neer and -active member of the
Regina Jewish community.
Friedman, who is retired
from business but remains ac-
tive within the Jewish com-
munity, was honored for his
contribution to the development
of this province. He began
homesteading in 1907, later be-
came a merchant, rancher and
hotel operator. Nathan Fried-
man Bay is located in Northern
Saskatchewan.

Ambassador - Sasson Joins
in Ceremonies of Coronation

sador Eliahu Sasson partici-

special representative of the
Israel government and of Pres-
ident Itzhak Ben-Zvi at the
coronation of Pope XXIII in
St. Peters.
