In a close and hard fought
contest, the Mustangs lost their
first football game of the sea-

Mumford came from behind to
lead the Tars 13-6 at the end of
the first half. Jimmy Hampton,
Mustang co-captain, ran 51

place-kicked for the extra point.

DAVENPORT

Cites Existence of
Yeshivah High School

Editor, The Jewish News:
I read your Jewish education
issue with great interest, and
believe that it will contribute
much to the layman's under-
standing of the problems and
trends in Jewish education in
Detroit, as well as nationally.
I would like to call your at-
tention. however, to an inac-
curacy which appeared in one
of the articles dealing with ed-
ucational facilities in this city.
In referring to the Hebrew
High School organized a few
short months ago, the article
reads, "for the first time we
have a center of higher learn-
ing in our city."
The fact is that Beth Yehu-
dah Schools have for years
maintained a high school di-
vision of the highest academic
calibre.. The only enrollment
problems in Beth Yehudah's
High School division is a short-
age of classroom space to ac-
comodate the increasing num-
ber of students interested in
the courses.
